Что такое Девелопер?
Девелопер, он же носитель - ферромагнитный порошок, используемый в двухкомпонентных машинах для переноса тонера из DV-бокса (developer-box) на поверхность фотобарабана. Если быть совершенно точным, то на поверхность магнитного вала DV-бокса, а оттуда тонер уже под воздействием электростатических сил перетягивается на фотобарабан; причем сам девелопер, в силу своих магнитных свойств, остается на магнитном валу (прим. автора: здесь и далее используется терминология фирмы Sharp, у других разработчиков названия и некоторые детали могут немного отличаться, но суть от этого не меняется).
По структуре девелопер представляет собой мелкие шарики ферромагнитного материала. Это хорошо чувствуется, если потоптаться на рассыпанном порошке: нога заметно скользит. В дешевых аппаратах с одноразовыми картриджами девелопер представляет собой мелкие кристаллики неправильной формы. Разность в структуре объясняется тем, что в многоразовых картриджах использование дешевого "кристаллического" девелопера приведет к быстрому износу всех соприкасающихся с ним деталей (так называемый "абразивный эффект"). В одноразовых картриджах долгий срок жизни в принципе не нужен, здесь главное – себестоимость. Каждая частичка девелопера имеет специальное покрытие (жесткое резиноподобное для "одноразовых" девелоперов или полимерное стеклоподобное для "долгосрочных" порошков), благодаря которому при трении в процессе перемешивания девелопера его частички электризуются, что делает их способными удерживать также наэлектризованные частички тонера.
Кстати, теперь становится понятным, почему девелопер "пылит" в конце срока службы. Из-за длительного перемешивания он попросту "теряет" покрытие на своих частицах и уже не может удерживать тонер; причем при обедненной смеси этот процесс происходит быстрее. Кроме того, при длительном хранении, особенно при неблагоприятных условиях, в покрытии частичек девелопера образуются микротрещины, вследствие чего долго хранившийся порошок имеет более короткий срок службы.
Блок проявки в двухкомпонентых машинах состоит из двух бункеров (или боксов) – тонер-бокса и DV-бокса. При нормальных условиях в тонер-боксе находится тонер, в DV-боксе – смесь тонера и девелопера в определенной концентрации. При работе копира происходит расход тонера (на фотобарабане проявляется видимое изображение – отсюда и название "блок проявки") из DV-бокса; следовательно, меняется и концентрация тонера в DV-боксе. Когда содержание тонера в смеси снизится до определенного значения, происходит подмешивание (добавление) тонера из тонер-бокса в DV-бокс, пока не восстановится исходное, запомненное в памяти копира, значение концентрации.
Количество тонера в DV-боксе измеряется датчиком концентрации. Принцип его работы – изменение индуктивности при взаимодействии катушки с внешним ферромагнитным веществом. Опять же, если быть более точным, измеряется не количество тонера в смеси, а именно девелопера, т.к. тонер в основе своей полимер и на изменение индуктивности никак не влияет. Просто в смеси тонер как бы "разжижает" девелопер, отчего меняются ферромагнитные свойства последнего.
С теорией вроде как покончено, перейдем к практике.
Даже в заводских условиях практически невозможно с ювелирной точностью от партии к партии повторить параметры порошка, поэтому уже на заводе подбирается оптимальное соотношение смеси девелопер-тонер именно для данной партии девелопера, обеспечивающее требуемое качество изображения. И девелопер поставляется уже с добавленным в него тонером. Далее, уже при инсталляции девелопера на копире, считывается вот это "заводское" оптимальное значение концентрации и запоминается в памяти машины.
Из сказанного следует, что не рекомендуется делать следующее:
Копировать на машине с новым, только что засыпанным, девелопером до прогонки инсталляционной программы, ибо нарушается оптимальная заводская концентрация.
Прогонять программу инсталляции без нужды, т.е. без замены девелопера на новый, ибо одному Богу известно, какая концентрация имеется в текущий момент.
При включении копира (и в процессе работы, естественно) проверяется соответствие концентрации реальной и запомненной, и если тонера в DV-боксе мало (или машине кажется, что мало), то она пытается восстановить запомненную концентрацию, подмешивая тонер. Отсюда следует, что если Вам необходимо заменить девелопер, а в памяти копира по какой-либо причине записано неправильное значение концентрации (см. п.п.1 и 2 выше), либо имеется подозрение на неисправность датчика концентрации и его цепей, нужно успеть войти в сервисный режим до момента, когда машина начнет "восстанавливать" концентрацию. Либо, чтобы быть спокойным, можно вытрясти тонер-бокс, чтобы случайно не нарушить заводскую концентрацию.
Из сказанного следует и то, что для исправной и настроенной машины абсолютно все равно, инсталлируете ли Вы девелопер с пустым или заполненным тонер-боксом, т.к. в процессе прогона инсталляционной программы подмеса тонера не происходит. Точно так же для машины все равно, если Вы правильно проинсталлируете девелопер, а потом сделаете несколько десятков копий с пустым тонер-боксом; главное, что машина уже запомнила нужное значение. Как только Вы добавите тонер (или вставите тубу с тонером и т.д.), копир сам подмешает нужное ему количество.
Все вышесказанное верно для машин с датчиками концентрации. Есть копиры, где таких датчиков нет, а используются другие методы для определения количества подмешиваемого тонера в процессе работы. Наверняка у других производителей могут применяться и другие методики инсталляции носителя. Но про это пусть рассказывают представители этих брэндов, у них это лучше получится.
P.S. На последних цифровых копирах формата А4 и младшего сегмента формата А3 Sharp отказался от программы инсталляции девелопера, т.е. для начала работы девелопер просто засыпается в бункер без каких-либо дополнительных операций. Связано это с упрощением процедуры запуска аппаратов, т.к. предназначены они в первую очередь для индивидуальных пользователей и малых офисов.Да и фабрика в состоянии контролировать стабильность качества рабочей смеси в достаточной степени.
Для старших сегментов программная инсталляция сохранилась, т.к. требования к качеству копий выше.
